Family Support

Christian Appalachian Project - A fire…your car breaks down…marital issues… you lose your home…substance abuse…your child is having trouble in school… illness…depression… Anyone would feel stressed at any one of these occurrences, but if you are already in a daily struggle with poverty it can be overwhelming. CAP offers three programs to provide families the needed support during times of crisis.

CAP’s Outreach program helps people weather times of crisis by helping to meet immediate needs. They often are able to then lead those Outreach participants into other CAP programs that will enable them to approach problems with more long-term solutions. Family Life Services is a residential program that provides housing and support to individuals and families in transition. Family Life Counseling has been helping people with the complexities of life since 1985. This spiritually based counseling can be provided through individual, couple, family, and group sessions. While a large percentage of individuals served also participate in other CAP programs, an even greater percentage is referred by other social agencies or come to us on their own.
